Ok for all of you who frequent the campground please give me some info. We reserved a campsite for memorial Day weekend. We were told there was only "overflow" campsites available. For those of you that know, what exactly does that mean at this particular campground? We have camped other places and this usually means no shade. I also would like to know your experiences at the campground. The good and the bad. I read some reviews online and they seem to be 50/50. Lots of complaints about golfcarts. Is this a big problem there? Thanks!:howdy:

Bethpage is one of my favorite places to camp. Its clean, fun and family friendly.

We have been there many times. We actually like the overflow area. It just means there isn't a sewer hookup. You have water and electric. We usually just wait for someone in the pull through sites to leave and then use their sewer hookup to empty. On big weekends, they usually pack everyone too close in the regular part of the campground. We also feel like we have more room in the overflow. Yes, there will be many golf carts!

Ok that's good to know. The lady on the phone said there would be no sewer. We don't need that anyway. I was just curious to see what others opinions were. I don't think the golf cart thing will be a problem. There were others who complained about quiet time not being enforced. That doesnt bother me either we like to stay up late when we're camping anyway.

Do you two belong to "The Woodlands" private forum? It is all about camping. If you want go knock and I will let you in.

The times we have been there, they have enforced the quiet time. Sometimes, a little too much. We enjoy the campground except for the price increase every year.

Some here like it, some don't. I personally LOVE it! We stored there the past 2 years, however, this year we'll be traveling more. Their sister campground "Grey's Point" is awesome as well and has the added perk of a water park w/ a water slide! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Depends upon what you like. If you like your privacy and secluded campsites then you probably won't like it. Have been to Bethpage and also Gray's Point (sister site). Overflow typically means that you are going to be in the field side by side with other campers. There are quite a few seasonal campers in both. There are a lot of golf carts wizzing around. If you are thinking about renting one, we stayed at Gray's Point last year and they were $45/day. We stayed on a super site at Gray's Point and that is the only sites I would stay at again. At least we had more room and had trees, etc. where we weren't open in the open field. Both are nice places depending upon what you are looking for. Didn't have any problem with quiet time when we were there but it was late in the season.

The only thing I didn't like about Beth page is the over abundance of skunks running around.....

There were a lot the past two years, however, they didn't cause any trouble. At least if you don't have a dog that scares them to death. There is a cute white one that visits now and then too.

I am permanent at Grey's Point. We love our campground! We started with a pull trailer years ago at Bethpage, but once we found Grey's Point, we sold our trailer and bought full time there. If you are into fishing and boating, this is the place to be too. The pools are great and the people are all very friendly.
