OK, here is my vote, a tie for the worst ever. Billy Don't Be A Hero, Seasons In The Sun, and Tell Laura I Love Her. Honorable mention goes to: Last Kiss, Where Can My Baby Be, and Garden Party.

You are sooooo missing the essence of a truly bad song. Whatever else, the Macarena is, in general, a fun song, like this;
wHx7zHMz45Y
I can't stand it, however, it is a 'fun' song that many enjoy. Setting aside the taste of such fine folks, we're talking about songs that make people cringe from one end of the music spectrum to the other; the TRULY reprehensible.

It doesn't make the Perfect Ten because it wasn't popular enough. There are a million songs that are just....bad...but if they're obscure enough that they don't assault you every time you turn on the radio, they're not perfect.

You have to look at it from a former deejay's perspective. Bad deejay's loved the Macarena, because it was sure to get people on the dance floor. Good deejay's hated it because it was sure to kill the great vibe they had going on the dance floor.

I'll have to take your word for that. There are some songs that become part of the culture and MUST be played at receptions. Play that Funky Music, The Electric Slide, Brick House and the Macarena are among them. Rocky Top if the reception is held below the Mason/Dixon line.
For the good of the nation.

But all DJs played it because it was requested over and over again for a year. I can't remember which local station it was but one of them played it for a day straight. :jameo:

Overblown schlock and the "bright eyes" warbling at the end makes me want to puke. It doesn't help it reminds me of my oh-so-sensitive boyfriend from high school... I can still remember those sweaty palms and his drooly kissing...ewwwww...

David Lee Roth/Van Halen - "Hot for Teacher" :barf: - or any song that gives me a visual of DLR. :barf: :barf:
Smashing Pumpkins - "Today" - whiny bastages :lol:
The whole REO Speedwagon/Yes/Ghey sounding girlie bands and their collection of songs as a whole. There might be a redeeming song or two, but as of right now, I cannot seem to recall any.
Madonna - "Like a Virgin" and "Papa don't Preach"
Any and EVERY EFFORT by Weird Al Yankinit

Why the diss on Bonnie Tyler? The only song better than "Total Eclipse of the Heart" (written by Jim Stienmann, Meatloaf's long time collaborator, which is why it's got a very Meatloaf feel to it) is "Holding Out for a Hero".
