I've seen various threads mentioning the gentleman that owns the business.
He uses Advantage Window Film (:yay:) and he's far less expensive than anyone else I could find. (Most shops wanted $150-$250 for the job)
I know various people that have had him tint their vehicle and everyone loves his work, especially for the price (it's usually $100).
He took car of my vehicle yesterday and I'm very pleased.
Just my $.02

I need my windows done. Where is he located, how long does he keep your car for and can you pick what % you want as long as it's legal?

You can pick any % you want, I just told him as dark as I can get within the legal limits. You may want a cool drink or take a walk outside or something because the shop is warm but he took just over an hour for my vehicle. :yay:
(It's in the Fowler Industrial Center - I think that's what it's called) on the right-hand side of Rt 235 (heading North) right before you hit Rt 247

We've had two vehicles done at Street Trenz for less than that, and the guy did a great job, and his work is guaranteed. He doesn't hesitate to fixor replace it if it has bubbles.

This guy offers the same guarantee/warranty. I went with him because he used the "Advantage Film"... I wanted Huper Optik, but I was told it's very expensive (I was given quotes for $300-$450 to use that film).

No. :lmao: Just under $100. each, and you don't have to drive all the way up to Mechanicsville. Someone will easily be able to pick you up and do something while it's being done.

Mechsville is too far away to do on a work day. I also saw where Car Pros was doing windows for $100.
I need to do it soon.

How many windows do you need to get tinted? I didn't even think of that. We only had two windows each tinted...and the wing windows on my car.

Street Trendz cost me 200 for my Neon. Doesnt matter because it was 20% and I had to take it off. If that place is onlt 100 and they are ok I might hit up some more 20%.

Street Trenz is pricey, but they do good work. Recently had the new truck done for $250. I had heard about the place in Mechanicsville (or maybe it's Hollywood), but I was told they are walk-in only??

I was told before it was put on that he would replace it even though it wasnt legal (20%) But after being pulled over and had to remove it he more or less said sorry pal your SOL. So im going elsewhere for my new tint.

That doesn't make sense. Why would he offer to replace something that you both know is illegal, and you know you'll have to replace/remove if you get pulled over for it? Doesn't sound like very good business sense to me.

:yeahthat: Also, why would they put illegal tint on your vehicle or for that matter even carry it?

If you own a truck or suv you can tint all windows eccept for the front doors and windshield as dark as you want to.

Gotcha. Still, these places should not be tinting side windows illegally.

I've got Huper Optik on my car...It was recommended by the dealership because of the electronics...it looks great but also blocks tons of heat out...
but yeah it stupid expensive..

I spoke to a dealer up in Columbia and he was saying that if it takes 1-2 hours to tint a vehicle with Advantage or a similar product it can take twice as long to use the Huper Optik because of the complexity... he said it can be pretty reflective too... is that true?
I'm hoping this tint helps reduce the heat (drastically), plus I wanted to protect the leather and the dash.

did you go up to PWT? I'm not sure exactly how long it took them to do the windows, they had the car for 9 hours...but I also got all of the lights smoked too....
As far as reflectivity goes, it's not bad...it looks pretty sweet...I only went 38%....so it's dark but you can still see in.
I'm with you, I want to protect the interior....not to mention there isn't anything worse than burning the hell out of the backs of your legs on the seats!

I think that is where my buddy went with his Mercedes SL600 - and he went with Huper Optik tint - when you are spending 90k+ on a car, what is a few bucks more for tint right?

I can't believe that he would tell you he would replace tint that was not legal if you got busted for it. That wouldn't fall under a warranty
We do window tint and we let everyone know up front that if they go with illegal it's on them if they get caught. It would be stupid to do otherwise especially considering how much they have been cracking down on it lately. My car is illegal and I have been caught once with it.

A tint place will put whatever the customer wants on it. Some people don't care they will pay to have it put on, pay to have it removed, and pay to put it on again.

But the business owner isn't going to agree to put something on the car that's illegal, then agree to remove it at no cost to the customer when they get caught. That story just smacks of :bs:

Yep exactly.
It's not illegal for everyone anyway. You can get a doctor's note that permits you to go darker than the legal limit. With the military base here some people still have their vehicles tagged in other states so they can get away with the darker tint too I believe.

The only local place I know that does Huper Optik's is TOO INTENSE WINDOWS® Huper Optik and LLumar Window Films (http://www.toointensewindows.com/) - he mainly does commercial stuff during the day, but in the evenings and weekends (appointment only) he does vehicles. I do not know about his work but my buddy (with the SL600) was going to go with him, but got into a rush and could not get in fast enough for him so he went somewhere up near Columbia MD.

I went to a place in Waldorf, Solar Pros 301-638-1140 - they did a good job. :yay: I went 35% all the way around and I am glad I did... towing at night is a biatch with super-duper dark windows behind the driver (rear doors on 4-door cab)
One of the windows had a bubble in it when we pulled it out (he was getting new lighting installed) and he pulled it right back in and fixed it. There was another spot he showed me and said if it did not lay down right he would take care of it - but it did lay down on its own and I am happy with the job. All 4 windows and the rear (one piece) he charged me $120 - all cutting was done electronically on a large plotter/type cutter.
Ford Super-Duty's have very tight tolerances on the windows/gaskets, at least my 2008 does, and this make it a bit tougher.

The two main shops in town that I tried, said they coud not handle my car's curved hatch glass, etc.
Took it to Tint Worx, and he handled it no problem and WAY cheaper than the other two were gonna charge.
