...yeah, mud. You never get too old for mud.

I'm fortunate enough to have a little room for a small dirt bike track. Coming to the sport later in life has, if anything, only made it that much more joyous to me. Thing about dirt bikes is they're made for...dirt. When it rains, as you may have noticed of late, here and there, dirt becomes mud.

Well, I get cranky if I go more than a day without riding and this afternoon I'd had enough of this rain business, so, I take a few easy, gentle little laps. Avoiding the puddles, easy through the turns. And then...a little faster, a little quick over the bumps, maybe just kinda goose it through some water...another trip around...then another and I'm going through all of the mud, over all the jumps, speeding up, getting air, mud is flying off the tires, I'm getting grooved, landing in the soup, back and forth across the creek and, well, a few laps became two hours and me and the bike were...brown. And I was little kid again and my shoes were sopping wet. And my shirt. And my...everything. :yahoo:

See, because I was just gonna take a few easy turns, I didn't gear up. I'm wearing tennis shoes, shorts and a t shirt. And everything is brown!!!

Anyway, just got the machine cleaned and lubed, wash started, and out of the shower, beers washing down and, well, I just wanted to celebrate...mud.

Mud. ####, yeah! :buddies:

I had the softest crash of my brief, yet eventful career today.

I don't have the balls to go over the big jump yet, so, I have a bypass that goes THROUGH the mud istead of over the mud and I come down the hill, moving pretty good, and I sit back and jump on the gas and #### starts flying everywhere and I musta hit something under the mud or in the creek because it sent me dead left with all my mo going straight ahead and I came off like a sack o' taters and, well, if your gonna come all the way off and fly through the air, I totally recommend landing in deep, soupy, mud!!!

We discussed it, no shooting range, due to our closeness to :gossip:. Going to be a crossbow, compound bow target range instead.
