My daughter's been invited to go with a friend to Padre Island, Texas. I need to send her on July 4th and she'll return on the 11th. I'm looking for a nonstop flight from the Washington area to either Hobby (HOU) or Houston Intercontinental (HIA). Anyone have a site they use that offers cheap flights? She's 13 so I need to make sure there's no hidden charges like $75-$100 each way, as I've found Continental and others charge, unless it's a cheaper flight. I know Southwest has direct flights and no fee but I'm looking at about $515. If that's what I got to do then that'll be what it is but just thought I'd check here first. BTW, My man gets paid tomorrow at midnight so I can't buy the ticket until then.

I have used Cheap Flights, Airline Tickets, Cheap Airfare & Discount Travel Deals - Kayak.com (http://www.kayak.com) for my son in the past. They are a search engine that uses all of the airline companies. My son is 10 and flies from Cali to MD 2-3 times a year.

I usually check Expedia, Cheap Tickets, Orbitz and Travelocity for the cheapest airfaire, then I go directly to that airline's website. Do searches out of Washington-National and BWI for the best flight. Most airlines are charging a fee for checked baggage, but I know Southwest does not.
