Not acquitted. Temporary injunction. Not over yet.
NASCAR.COM - Mayfield has suspension lifted by a federal judge - Jul 1, 2009 (http://www.nascar.com/2009/news/headlines/cup/07/01/jmayfield.suspension.lifted.ap/index.html)

I think it's total BS that a judge can just come in and say: "OK, He's ready to race" NASCAR just wouldn't make this stuff up. (I think)...I'd like to see the other 42 - 43 drivers say: OK, if he races, we're not...

Personally I hope he is not using and racing as that is a danger to others out there but F nascar, they have ruined racing for the common fan as myself. They have tried to run the fan base away from the sport for profit and I hope it collapses and falls apart in the future. Nascar has jacked their pricing up for every aspect a fan would be involved with from the price of tickets to try and buy up all property around the tracks so they can regulate and set the amount it costs to camp and park. I hope someone can find the grounds to file a monopoly lawsuit against the bas tards.

Two words: Tim Richmond.
But, I do believe NASCAR in this case.
Mayfield's marked. Let's put it this way, it'll take a long time for his car to make it through inspection at Chicagoland.
The last thing NASCAR wants is him on the track. :faint:

Monopoly? :killingme NASCAR has plenty of competition. And ARCA could easily steer a bunch of fans away if Ron Dragger *attempted* to promote the series. If their management structure and the sanctioning body as a whole wasn't a complete joke, ARCA would be a major league series.
