I was down in Brenton Bay this morning and most of the 'kids' were practicing in the nests with their wings. Saw another couple in flight and it may have been an adult teaching an young one how to evade, etc.. Watched them for 5 minutes. Saw an adult very much like in your picture with the same coloring and it had so much white on it I initially thought it was a gull. Neat birds.

FYI: Juvenile osprey have the deep orange eye as seen in DE forst photo.
At adult, 3+ years the eyes are yellow.
Male has white breast, female have a dark bank of feathers, aka: string of dark pearls, around her chest.
