Testing Firefox

Quote feature

For Firefox 3.XX users you must have your Java functions enabled in order for many of the forum features to work. Go to:

Tools>Options>Content and make sure the options for Java are checked. These are not checked by default when you install Firefox.

For Firefox 3.0.11 users you must have your Java functions enabled in order for many of the forum features to work. Go to:

Tools>Options>Content and make sure the options for Java are checked. These are not checked by default when you install Firefox.

More testing.

Interestingly enough it seems to work without Java even installed on my machine.

testing 3.5 ?

Yes. I'm trying to help someone here on the forum that certain forum functions aren't working. For instance they have no cursor when editing a post or can't Quote test. I'm been approaching it from a Java standpoint because when I uncheck the options for Java under Tools > Options > Content I get same results. But now I have complete uninstalled Java from my PC and can still have all edit functions in the forum.

Got any ideas?

Unchecked Java options.

Cannot put this line in quote. Does Firefox have it's own built in Java apps?

update the java from download.java.com

We've done all this. Currently I uninstalled all instances of java from my PC. If I have the java options under Tools > Options > Content checked (even with Java uninstalled) all the functions in the forum work fine. If I uncheck the Java options the functions (i.e. quoting text, inserting a Link, etc...) do not work. So I'm thinking there is an inbedded java app installed in FF.

I've installed FireFox many times on multiple PCs, and have never had to change any settings. Always worked the way you would expect.

Once in a blue moon the cursor doesn't show up in a text box. I found that just clicking once into the box lets the cursor appear.

I'm using v3.0.11 right now. Haven't downloaded 3.5 yet.
