I really want to see this. Would love to hear what everyone thought of it. Maybe I'll see it while on vacation. I know the book was great, one of the best in the series.

Here is an article from CNN

I saw it last night and liked it. Having not read the book yet, I had nothing to compare it to so my review is purely from the movie perspective. A lot more romance and humor and not quite as dark as the last couple of films. The audience laughed and giggled quite a bit in fact. The revelation of whom was the "Half-Blood Prince" was kind of anti-climatic IMO. The announcement was made and the storyline kind of ended there (or maybe I dozed off as it was after 2:30AM). In fact, a few of the storylines were kind of left unresolved. I don't know if this was because the movie assumed we had already read the book and knew the outcome or maybe they'll be resolved in the last chapter, but I was left with a lot of unanswered questions. I will check with my son who loved the movie and says it is his favorite book of the series. Three out of four stars, but that's just me.

I went to the midnight showing.

The movie had quite a bit of humor in it, had one really great scare, and one sad moment. In terms of a movie experience, I laughed, I screamed, and I cried, which made it more than worth the money I spent on the popcorn. The "Half Blood Prince" revelation was very anti-climatic (like the above poster said), however the potions book which was owned by the Half Blood Prince wasn't really used. It was almost as if the director went "Oh, that's right, this movie is "The Half Blood Prince" so we'd better put in that revelation." For pure theatrical value, however, the movie was awesome, a must see, and repeat see.

Everyone DID know if they watched the news, used the internet, or knew one of the bajillion people who have read the books. If you didn't know... Dumbledore dies. I'd not click on the links above if you don't want to know specifics.

I didn't look at all of your links, but was this ever mention here? I'm sure it have to have been.

No, it wasn't mentioned in my links because J.K. Rowling didn't come out with that tid bit until after the 7th book was published. The links I posted link to various sites and stories which gave away the ending almost immediately after the book was published.

Dumbledore dying is one of the worst kept "secrets" about Harry Potter. Harry Potter's fate is the other worst kept secret.
