I have two rebel xti's... one stopped reading the cf card so I put the card from the other camera and it still wouldn't work, so I placed that card back into the other camera now neither camera will read any cf cards. I went and bought a new card and the same error, the pins do not appear to be bent. I don't know what to do or where I would get them looked at...

Have you tried re-formatting the cards. May be corrupt cards.

Yep Jason is rirgt on with that . I tryed a very old card in my camera with same results. A plain format did not help! I had to do a LOW LEVEL FORMAT
To low level format I had to check a box then format.
I had no luck with any other method. I did not try the sandisk recovery software application but that was next on list to try.

I don't have a good answer why the first camera stopped reading the first card. (Did it happen after you had the card in your computer? Had you down/uploaded any files from/to it?) But given that the second card was working in the second camera before putting it in the first camera and did not work following that, I think it's easy to figure your answer lies in that.
Try the reformatting and check everything over again.

You may have also picked up a virus on the CF card

I ended up sending one of the cameras to canon today, it's possible that the one card damaged the pins in some way... I'll know next week...
