OK, so maybe we can't be at the real thing this year but next week is East Coast Sturgis (Little Orleans, MD). It is closer to home, therefore cheaper, and less time off needed. They usually get somewhere around 5,000 bikers at the event. Works for me!

Actually the idiots are the ones riding on the roads drunk, not the ones partying in a remote field somewhere. To each his own. People have a good time up there. They keep returning. But is not for everyone.

The riding in the Sturgis area is excellent (Silverfish canyon was my favorite), but if I were to go again, I'd go the week after the official Sturgis rally.

I hear the riding in Laconia is even better.
