Seems I might have a sick kitty. Bought a new (dry) food and he immediately turned his nose up at it, however I have a I bought it your eating it policy.
Well now he has thrown it up on 2 instances (Day one) so I bought soft food as I thought maybe he has an irritated stomach. Only gave him a little bit then a little more about 3hrs later - he threw up (Day two) less than he got the second feeding.
Also keep in mind he has been hunting (caught 2 mices in one week :yahoo:) but I'm not sure if he ate any. He's pooping and he's drinking.
I gave him a little more this AM and I'm going to give him hairball preventative tonight then a little more soft food later.
How long do you think I should wait before a vet visit?
He has no other outward signs of not feeling well.
Just keeps leaving bombs for my husband to find in his bare feet. :killingme
I'm starting to think it might be on purpose.

Is the cat ever outside? If yes, then he's probably eating grass.

What brand of cat food?
You wouldn't believe all the crap and crude that is put into most pet food, plus they often get added ingredients in there, like, Salmonella. :ohwell:
He is pooping/peeing and obviously hungry to be hunting mice so something could be wrong with the food unless the mice made him sick.

Nope - never outside.
Caught the mice in our basement.

I know I should be ashamed but groceries have been tight lately.
He's a regular hunter, even fat and happy.
He's been known to eat "other" items like string so thats why I'm giving him the hairball stuff.

give him a couple of more days before a vet visit as long as he is eating and drinking ok and is acting normal otherwise. I've done the same thing....bought a cheaper food trying to cut pennies but in the long run it'll cost you more. Buy a good quality food. I feed a mix of canned wet food and dry food.
when he vomits, is it clean froth? whole food? partially digested?

Whole and partially digested food and includes some hair.
Feed him at 430p, he hasn't had a problem yet and is still using the box.
I think the crapy food upset his belly, I've thrown it out.
I'll keep him on a soft diet for the next week or so.
Thanks All:flowers:
