I know somebody that has 4 kids. All 4 are bio to the couple.
1 while using a diaphram
1 while useing a condom
1 while on the pill
1 after he was fixed
She then had her parts snipped.

Honestly, people do tend to gain weight when they become more comfortable with each other...you guys are cooking more and probably going out to eat more just for something to do. Although, this wouldn't explain you missing your period...you just need to take a test.

Good advice and if nothing shows there, make sure they do a sonogram and consider a scrape for Endometriosis, you know, provided you are not pregnant.
I have a personal question for you and you can choose to answer it or not, but I am pretty blunt whether it be online or IRL, are you okay with the notion that you are marrying somebody who may never give you a child(ren) of your own?
When I was your age, I had a partial hysterectomy, so I figured Mother Nature was going to make sure my desire to not have children was fulfilled. Like I have said a few times on this board, I raised my two sisters and was fairly tied down young because of that. So, it was a shocker when several years later I ended up pregnant. Now, I cannot imagine life without my children and as I got in my later 20's, my attitude towards my earlier decision had changed drastically - so did my body size, bye-bye size 4.

Now I have a personal question for you and you can choose to answer to not, but I'm a bit confused. Everyone I know that has ever had a "partial hysterectomy" has had their uterus removed and the ovaries left behind. How did you become pregnant without a uterus or did you have an ovary removed? If that is the case, it is not a partial hysterectomy.
Hysterectomy-Topic Overview (http://women.webmd.com/tc/hysterectomy-topic-overview)
A hysterectomy is surgery to take out a woman’s uterus, the organ in a woman's belly where a baby grows during pregnancy. After a hysterectomy, you will not be able to get pregnant.

They removed an ovary, fallopian tube, part of my other ovary and part of my uterus. When I had my 2nd son, the area that was scar tissue tore and why I ended up at John Hopkins when I was 26 weeks along.
I was told after the surgery I may never have children or perhaps I could, there was just no research on success.

You may want to do some investigating on this issue. It is a huge deal, and not nearly 100 % effective. It's much harder to do a reversal and the chances of success also depend on how long it's been since he had it done.

 Actually a partial hysterectomy takes the uterus and leaves the cervix. A total takes both. If you take all of that along with the ovaries, it's call total hysterecomy with oophorectomy..or something like that. I know...I had a total years ago...kept my ovaries.

A hysterectomy is surgery to take out a woman’s uterus, the organ in a woman's belly where a baby grows during pregnancy. After a hysterectomy, you will not be able to get pregnant.
 Actually a partial hysterectomy takes the uterus and leaves the cervix. A total takes both. If you take all of that along with the ovaries, it's call total hysterecomy with oophorectomy..or something like that. I know...I had a total years ago...kept my ovaries.
And perhaps I am calling it the wrong thing but they did remove a section of my uterus. It is very unusual to have what I had done and they never really understood what caused a mass to grow the way it did around the ovary, fallopian tube and attach itself to the uterus the way it did. The ovary they removed never developed and they believe this was cause from an old Pneumonia virus I had when I was 8. Removing a piece from the ovary they left was only for the purpose of biopsy.
I was told that they just didn't know if I was going to ever have children and after years of using no birth control method and not getting pregnant, I figured it wasn't going to happen. It took nearly 6 years. My first son was 4 weeks early; my 2nd son, almost 10 weeks early.
This past year, I had an endometrial ablation. They could clearly see the thickening of the uterus but ruled out cancer (after several test) and really weren't convinced I was menopausal, although I had all the signs and symptoms. There just isn’t a hell of a lot of research done on the surgery I had and I still think there is a link between early menopause and the procedure I had.
Even with the procedure I had, I still am not out of the wood for a total hysterectomy in the future but is it sure nice not having any periods. :yay:

Oh great... Mood swings worse than now?!?!:cds:
Pandora, there is a link between tubal ligation and early menopause due to the blood supply to the ovaries (major hormone producers) being reduced. I'm sure after surgery like your the same concept could apply. I just turned 30 and am on a natural progesterone supplement.

Has anyone ever got off depo to get prego and how long did it take??
I stopped the shots in 1995 and got pregnant in 2005. Now mind you, I was taking BC pills to prevent getting pregnant, so this doesn't really help you but I was just sharing my story like everyone else. :killingme

kvj,
I asked you my question because you have no idea the challenges you are about to embark on if one isn't able to reproduce and the other wants to have a child. Girl, I was completely prepared to leave my husband and let him go so that he could find somebody that could give him the family he always wanted and numerous hurts that you'll become acquainted with during a marriage happened during that time frame. My husband and I weren't even living in the same house when I learned I was pregnant (talk about putting your dirty laundry out there). But, I was very lucky and will never consider myself (or us) unfortunate because having children was a huge gift to us when things were really stacked against us but things don't always turn out that way.
I think you need to seriously consider and discuss the fact that you may never have a child of your own and consider and discuss other measures that can be taken because 4d might not be able to give you sperm.
I'm blunt... especially on this topic and I will not sugar coat it.
Pixie,
I know, I have read some of the 'early' studies but many doctors haven't been willing to acknowledge the preliminary research (mine was one of them) but my 2nd opinion did acknowledge it was a possibility. Thickening of the uterus is a significant sign when cancer has been ruled out and of course all the other wonderful symptoms. :cds:
On another note, I opted for the procedure I had vs. a hysterectomy at this time. However, it seems hysterectomies are no where near as invasive as they used to be. It isn't your grandmother's hysterectomy no more and that is a good thing! :yay:

He said being older he has more money and doesn't struggle like he did when he was young, so now he isn't having to work so much and he has more time to enjoy being daddy. He says he has so much more patience now then he did when he had his others.

We're not getting any younger so we decided to start trying in August of last year, we became pregnant in February. I was on the pill for about 18 months prior so I'm guessing that played a major part. We have decided to not go back on hormonal birth control after the birth of our child this November, it would be nice to have another be fore we get too old.

I had been on BC since I was 16 until I was 25, I became pregnant when I was 26, we used a condom, it was a big surprise but a pleasant one at that. I don't think you should have anything to worry about but you should definitely hit up the gyno if you already haven't. I was told it could take up to a year for your periods to get back to normal.
