:howdy: Don't know if anyone has used them or not, but I just found out about Darnell's Mobile Veterinary Service in Lusby. They serve St. Mary's, Calvert, Charles, and Anne Arundel counties. I'm thinking I might have to check them out the next time the "girls" need shots. They REALLY don't like going in the car!!

We've used Dr. Darnell for a loooong time, starting at Prince Frederick. She is an awesome vet and a great person. I can't say enough good things about her. :yay:

Thanks for the feedback. I had seen mobile groomers, but not mobile vets in this area. The idea definitely appeals to me!! :buddies:

She just started the mobile service. Of course, there are things that cannot be done in the home so she has an arrangement with PF for surgery, x-ray, etc. She genuinely loves our pets, especially our dogs.

Do you have to be a patient at PF vet to use her services? We take our dogs to Solomons Vet and if other things need to be done, we'd rather take them there than PF (nothing against PF Vet, just have always used Solomons).

Actually, there are several mobile vets. Many do surgery etc right on the truck. It's amazing how they are set up.

How much does she charge? I looked at her site but no prices.. Is she more expensive because she comes to your house?

There is a "house call" fee. Honestly, I'd call her. She's new to this and is working out things as she goes.

are you talking about dr.gwyther (sp) buttercup? my neighbor used her and the day he had to put his dog down he couldn't even get in touch with her so he went to a regular vets office to have him put down.

I had a 5:45 apt for 4 cats to get 4 rabies shots....I was FINALLY seen at 7:15PM...My poor cats had to be in a cat carrier for over 2 hours...plus a road trip up and back....
I have 4 more cats to go...might be well worth a house visit as my cats are so pissed at me for hauling them to the vet for a 2 second shot....
Cost was OK...$15.00 per vaccine..

I think I will give them a call!!!!!

I have a cat that needs rabies. Worth it for me to give her a call? DR's mom's cat needs trimming around the tail area and probably a rabies shot, along with who knows what. I'll call them tomorrow.

I think this service is wonderful! I have a feral kitty that refuses to be put in a crate without a huge fight. This would be perfect for her. And I don't have to drive to the vets office holding toilet paper on my face! :yay:
