Any suggestions for slimming down a tubby kitty who lives in a multi-cat home of nibblers (others are slim).

LOL, the tubby one even eats the dogs food!!!!

Oh and I have been trying to get her to exercise more using a laser light, the others go crazy and run all around and Ms. Tubby only chases the laser light if it is in paws length reach!

I'm thinking about just putting everyone on a "diet food"

you can try feeding this cat in a separate area than the others and give him/her a half a cup of dry in the am and a half of a cup of dry in the pm. My cats free eat and I have one who is a pig. I have a feeling once shes done being a kitten and becomes lazy I will have to put her on the kitty slimfast diet to keep her healthy.
if the others go crazy for the laser then let them chase it and go crazy that is exercise for them. I take a ball outside and bruno plays keepaway from me til she gets tired then she lays down and pants her little heart out.

I have the same problem. One of my older girls eats the other's food, plays little and is just a chub. It's really, really bad to let your pets get fat. I feed the fat one in a separate room. Once they are all done eating I pick up their food bowls. I don't let them free feed anymore. I used to when they were younger. I also feed a a little canned food, small amt of dry food, small amt of chicken meat or turkey meat (no skin, no fat, no bones).

The fat one is funny when she "plays." She too will only swat at the toy if it comes within an inch or two of her paws, but I figure at least I'm getting some activity out of her. She cracks me up! She thinks she's big and bad when her foot actually lands on the toy like she actually caught it!

I wonder if there's any way you can rig a food bowl to the end of a treadmill?

my cats love the treadmill....when it's not moving and the sun is brightly beaming down on the pad. they are such slugs.

LOL that thought crossed my mind .... all my others are thin and "free eat" It's just Diva who is Tubby!

One day I put food in the dogs dish .. and before I got back with his water- Diva was eating his food! and it was those gaines -burger things .. I wouldn't even think that would appeal to a kitty
