I dont know how many of you read Oswald Chambers Utmost for his Highest devitional but I thought Id share.

Beware of not acting upon what you see in your moments on the mountaintop with God. If you do not obey the light, it will turn into darkness. "If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!" ( Matthew 6:23 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+6:23) ). The moment you forsake the matter of sanctification or neglect anything else on which God has given you His light, your spiritual life begins to disintegrate within you. Continually bring the truth out into your real life, working it out into every area, or else even the light that you possess will itself prove to be a curse.
The most difficult person to deal with is the one who has the prideful self-satisfaction of a past experience, but is not working that experience out in his everyday life. If you say you are sanctified, show it. The experience must be so genuine that it shows in your life. Beware of any belief that makes you self-indulgent or self-gratifying; that belief came from the pit of hell itself, regardless of how beautiful it may sound.
Your theology must work itself out, exhibiting itself in your most common everyday relationships. Our Lord said, ". . . unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven" ( Matthew 5:20 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+5:20) ). In other words, you must be more moral than the most moral person you know. You may know all about the doctrine of sanctification, but are you working it out in the everyday issues of your life? Every detail of your life, whether physical, moral, or spiritual, is to be judged and measured by the standard of the atonement by the Cross of Christ.

From out of the heart the mouth speaks!

Do you ever blink in a day or week and realize it's been a long time since you prayed or reflected on the Lord... Life can get so busy it completely takes you over. It's easy to fall in to bad habits of gossip and biotchiness. This is a great challange to us as Christians. This would be good to print out and post on the office wall.

Thanks for sharing.

In the last 10 years - since I started going back to church regularly, I say a prayer to my Lord every morning, 'specially when I know I've been bad/wrong, when I've sinned. It's become much more easier for me to ask for forgiveness, when, in years before then, I simply let it pass, and never thought much of it.

It's a great practice to begin the day with a prayer. Unfortunately my first thought is usually to pray for more sleep...several punches of the snooze button later, I'm running late and starting the day out cursing.

And, you believe you're in the minority?? :lmao: It happens, I think to many of us! Just remember, in most cases, the hurrier you get, the farther behind you fall.

You're late, Ok, but trying to regain that lost time makes one mess up, putting you further behind schedule. Accept it as it is.

You'll be fine. (Shoot, the darn car won't start!!):killingme:killingme

I was talking to Stallion and thinking about why we hide behind chat names and Avatars. These forums can be a real challenge from crossing the line and occasionally I need to back off and out because I fall into the trap. On the other hand posting my real pic may help with personal accountability.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

Sometimes it's really hard to see the love of Christ in here no matter which side of the isle you’re on as folks let their emotions get the best of them taking the attacks personal, or trying to get in the last word. <o:p></o:p>

To answer your questions yes, I set aside time every morning for scripture reading devotions and prayer, but fall back asleep praying a lot making me get up late and rush around, or I've not been feeling good lately and have been getting up taking meds and going back to bed and sometimes over sleeping which can cut into my time with God. I struggle with pride, I don’t memorize scripture, even when I try, I can’t seem to, but ask me lyrics to any song during the 70's or 80's and I know that junk. I hand out a lot of tracts daily, but I rarely open my mouth to witness with anyone unless I set out to do it.<o:p></o:p>

I work 40 + usually 50 hours a week, plus I am a full time student so I feel your pain. I love to start and end my day in the word and prayer, but usually I am so tired the morning is as good as it gets as I am out as soon as I go horizontal.<o:p></o:p>
