How about Hawaii, that's my favorite place.

Went there in 83 when I was in the Navy. Would love to go back but fell for Aruba 5 years ago. It's a 4 hour flight away, relatively inexpensive and I feel very safe and comfortable there. I own a timeshare there and I am counting down the days until I go back. The restaurants are incredible, weather is pretty much perfect every day and the snorkeling/ diving is amazing.
