I have a Cub Cadet 127 that i picked up a little while back and I am trying to figure out what a part on it does. Anyone familiar with this model? My Dad has had a few and has no clue what this lever is for. It's above the right floor board on the frame, a small lever that you can lift and flip a tab to hold it up. It was stiff at first then I tried to force it and broke something in there but I have no clue what it's for :lmao: I was thinking it might be a differential locker

I found a 127 oin Ebay. Good pictures of both sides. Don't see a lever on the right side, but I do see one on the left.

Is it the parking brake?

That's the one I saw on the left.

Positive.

The picture you have is a manual lift deck, it's hard to see but it might be right behind that in the picture. Mine has an electric lift so the large lift lever is not there. It looks like a PTO lever on tractor's, small rod. My PTO engages by a lver on the left side that looks like the deck lift in your picture.... leave it up to me to get an oddball :lmao:

It may be a brake lock, i'll have to check but usually the brake pedals have a small throw lever built in at the foot pedal.

My craftsman has a brake lock its on the left and is more like a rod then a lever, but you just press in the brake and lift up the lever and it locks it.

I went to the county fair last week and there must have been at least 20 cub cadets there and not one had the electric lift or this little lever

My John Deere has a transmission unlock so you can move the beast by hand if you can't start it. That lever is under the seat over the rear diff. It may be something similar on yours. Has no apparent effect whatever under normal use.

Go to this website. Click on the box for parts lookup, go to cub cadet and then garden tractor. It lists all models and when you click on the 127, you will get access to the entire parts manual. http://www.cortlandmow.com/parts.asp
