What, you don't like Cat Stevens?

Yusuf Islam (formerly Cat Stevens) converted to Islam through a "religious experience" believing that he is following the true religion. Fact is, Cat Stevens is living underneath a "Moon Shadow" - the crescent moon of Islam.

My goodness, Cat had a "religious experience". Who would have thought? :killingme

Here's one of his Christian songs.....

Cat had a Christian "upbringing" in his youth but obviously did not believe Jesus to be The Son of God. Also, song lyrics and references to a "Creator" do not necessarily mean that a person has a spiritual relationship with The Creator only a spiritual awareness that The Creator exists. The Islamic version of the Creator God from the Qur'an is much different than the Creator God of the Holy Bible. Cat believes in Al'lah, not Yahweh/Hashem.

BTW: I was trying to find "Moon Shadow" earlier.

Just wondering. By the way, since we're on the religion forum, what is the faith that you follow - if any?

I'm going to guess agnostic. You seem like the kind of person who doesn't want to believe in a god, but you lack the stones to commit to full-blown atheism.

BTW nonno, it's not a catchy tune. It's a monotonous nasal caterwauling.

Yes. For example, you have faith that Jesus was not the Divine Son of God and Saviour of mankind. I seem to recall that you also have stated that you do not believe in the spiritual realm of a soul and spirit being within human existence. Thus, you have faith that a person does not have a soul or spirit.

Therefore your faith in what you believe brings you to this board to boast that you are a "Christ-Punching Atheist". So, in effect, everyone really has some sort of "faith" that brings them to the decision they make in regard to discussing topics of religion and spirituality.

Unless you are wavering in anyway, you have faith that God does not exist.

Still friends and still able to take them punches! :buddies:

No, you can discuss spirituality and religion (The topic description of this forum) and not have a belief system.

Belief system meaning religion or spirituality

irreligious and unspiritual still constitutes a belief system otherwise you wouldn't be here. Like positive vs negative are still polar perceptions.
Humanism/Atheism can be defined as a "religion" because it constitutes some sort of "faith" which leads to forming your thought about life.

This has nothing to do with the topic description of this Forum.

The ability to hold a conversation about spirituality and religion is not dependent upon a requirement to believe in some form of a Deity (natural, spritual, super-natural, omnipotent).

If you don't believe in a Deity or Spirituality, how can you engage in a real conversation about something you know nothing of? :coffee:

I have studied the various teachings and know what Muslims believe and what Mormons believe and why they believe it. I compare my faith in the God and Saviour I believe in and can make comparisons between the Dieties and teachings of their/my spirituality.

C'mon Nucklesack.
I know what Islam teaches and I know what Mormonism teaches because I have read their doctrinal beliefs and understand what they believe to be true.

Still: There is Only One Truth.

If Islam is True, Mormonism cannot be true.
If Mormonism is True, Islam cannot be true. etc. These are discussion points that are brought up to compare each other's beliefs.

One cannot discuss Islam or Mormonism unless they have studied those religions in depth and have something to compare to. I have studied them and am able make comparisons between teachings.

All religions, except faith in Jesus as Lord and Saviour, are dependent on personal "good works" of the individual and the rewards are far different. One wouldn't know unless one learned what is taught in each religion and only then can a real conversation of comparative discussions take place.

BTW: Mormon men believe they can achieve god-hood and be able to inhabit their own planet with children from their many celestial wives.

Muslim men believe they will be rewarded in heaven with houris (virgins in paradise) and the only guranteed way to achieve salvation is through martyrdom - thus suicide bombers.
