I'm just wondering.....all of the married forumites.....after you met your wife/husband;how long after the two of you met, did it take to decide 'this is it!" "He (or she) is THE One" after meeting your "better 1/2", "partner in/for life," "soulmate," etc., etc.....

Hubby's parents were engaged after two weeks and married shortly after. They've been together 30 plus years.

We knew each other for 4 years before we got married. Dated for 1 year, geographically separated for 1 year, then lived together for 2 years before making the leap. We've been married for almost 11 years now and going strong. :yay:

My best friends brother met a girl on line. They went on a few dates, and got married. He lives here in the county, she lived near baltimore. A week later she said she didn't want to be married to him. They lasted a whole week and only spent 3 nights together! :killingme

In sin? You won't find a post from me where I claim to have religion. Neither one of us was the marryin' kind and we took a long time making sure it was gonna work before taking that step. Then we waited years before adding kids to the mix. We wanted to make sure of a financially and emotionally stable home before children.

Larry and I dated not quite a year and a half before we got married. We're not the impulsive types

My last wife and I dated for about 4 months, both having been married/divorced before, and I was smitten from the start but she wasn't for going forward that fast. I asked a number of times if/when she'd marry me and I got farted off but didn't give up. Finally one night she said I could stay the night. From then on we planned the marriage. Unfortunately after almost 11 years she tired of me. I think she sucked all the money out of me she could and decided I was not the one she wanted to be with the rest of her life. I have very few regrets as we did have what I thought was a wonderful thing while it lasted. Guess she thought otherwise.

Nope. It took 8 months to get divorce. We were joking around and said hey lets get married. So we went to the court house got our license then went down the hall got married. I was young and stupid!
