and have immediate problems? After my download my browser continuously stops functioning, when i move the cursor over the drop down menus on some webpages (like Facebook) the menu drops down and stays, changing modes too quickly on some windows will cause the window to crash. And I probably haven't found everything yet.

I downloaded it 1 or 2 days ago and honestly haven't noticed much of a difference, my browser seemed to freeze up a little bit in one window but that was about it.
Although it seems like I'm constantly having to clear temporary files because of the "page cannot be displayed" messages and the "The connection was reset" messages. I'm aware that it's more of an operating system flaw than a browser flaw though.

I have Win 7 or order and should recieve it sometime in October. I hope I can hold out that long and not take a hammer to my computer. I finally got frustrated enough yesterday that I tried to do a Restore to a configuration prior to my install and those set points had already been purged.

You can always go to your control panel and go to installed updates and remove it. At least you could do that in the past. Good luck!

Thanks...I don't do some of these things often enough to remember that I can do them. I did google to see if there anyone else was having problems with SP2 and it seems like they are mostly centerd around problems with the audio drivers, and not the problems I am seeing.

Bite the bullet and hold out for 10/22/09 and spend the $ and get Windows 7. Since Beta release one (build 7000) it has worked flawless. I am running the release candidate now for the past 6 weeks and all is well. Every machine I own now runs 7...

Heard nothing but good about Windows 7 and nothing but bad about Vista. I'm still running XP until I can get a new computer.

Same here, Windows 7 comes out next month. Gonna rebuild my machines when I get it.

Where does it take you?
That's the problem with tinyurl - As great an idea as it is, it's inherently flawed by the fact that it can link to anything.

I downloaded it on my friends computer last weekend and it seeems to work fine. He had 2 strikes against him though: He has Vista and an AMD processor. :nono:
What I had to do was to go into the run program and msconfig and shut down most of his programs that were running. It took literally 30 seconds to change pages online and he has DSL. After downloading SP2, turning off all those running programs and then doing a cleanup and defrag, it runs much better than it ever did. He's happy.
Now if I can just find out how to eliminate that pop up window that says "do you want to continue" everytime I open something, I'll be a lot happier.
