In the absence of evidence, it would be only natural to scoff at such a claim. However, the evidence suggesting so is, to say the least, profound. I offer two articles which might be of great interest, one dealing with the Apostle St. Thomas' work in the Americas during the first century and another dealing with a group of Byzantine monks' work in modern-day Connecticut during the fifth century.
1) The first article is entitled "The Apostle St. Thomas in America", printed in The American Ecclesiastical Review (the January, 1899 ed.).
