It's ALIVE!!!!!!!

Pulled the blown 4HP from the dead push mower and the running 6.75HP from the self-propelled. The 6.75 took the place of the 4 and once I modify the blade height, boy #1 can begin his OTJTraining as a Landscaping Engineer.

It's rather funny looking in that the 6.75 is almost as big as the mower deck.

Imagine if you can...

A red $99.00 WalMart Special YardMachines 22" mower had relations with and a TroyBilt high wheel mower w/ Briggs 6.75 motor and the offspring would be the FrankenMower.

Does FrankenMower have a criminal record?
Yeah it does, something about serving chicken that had been left out on the counter for too long.

I ran out of daylight tonight, but it's about 2/3 cut between the guardrail and fence. FrankenMower cuts GREAT! If it weren't for the discharge opening getting blocked by the 3'-4' grass I was cutting, it would not have bogged down at all. Making the switch to bigger motor and less restriction in the cutting area (with the blade flush with the bottom of the deck instead of being recessed about 1/2") the clippings fly! I cut the front in about 35 minutes, which is not much longer than it took with the rider.

Get rid of the wheels, cut back the deck sides, put on a larger blade and you'll have a hover-mower.

I admit that I am tempted to cut the discharge opening in the deck to about double the size to make the mower more bushhogish.

But if I'm going to go big, I may as well go BIG
I have a buddy w/ 2 mowers under his deck that he wants gone. I could take one of them, throw on a motor from a rider, adapt the output shaft to accept the blade adapter, some 6" steel hubbed wheels that I have laying around, open up the entire side of the deck on the discharge side and make a monster mower.

Nevermind.
Hovermowers
HM 19H-4 $1,121.00
HM 16H-4 $901.00
Wheeled Mowers
SP21K $1,105.00
SP21K-BBC $1,332.00
ST 21K-BBC $1,898.00

:faint:
I'll keep blowing up cheap Briggs motors for the next 30 years and still not spend enought to buy 1 of these.

Of course, it'd be cheaper to buy the Flymo (British name on the same machine as the HoverMower) off eBay and ship it over from England.

Actually there is a group whose name I can not remember now that builds paintball tanks and goes out to have mock battles with them. I went out with them once, it was awesome to see some of these that the guys would build. They had a battle near waldorf a long time ago.

Finished the hill tonight. Displaced about a dozen rabbit families (saw 6 or 7 bunnies run out and head to the pond) but found holes/beds for the rest. Flushed out 4 garter snakes. Caught 1 that was about 30" long to show my sons.
