:whoosh:
Beck would have been better off, I think, by explaining that white culture is anything that isn't black. In other words, it includes white people (who may or may not be of black ethnenticity), and anything white people value, own or possess, have built, strive for, or aspire to. In other words, America as she is today. Barring all the damage the libs have done to her in a very short time.

I think he was smart to do what he did. The telling was in Couric's (paraphrased) words "cmon, this is completely unedited". I think he let her know he knew they'd piece together some piece of crap to make him look like the Chief Bigot for the Radical Right Mob when he leaned forward and said "this will be our little secret, right?" ala Connie Chung.
Better he did this and give them nothing they could use, other than him refusing to answer the question.

Thanks for the post Nonno.
I think the concerning thing about this individual (Mr. Beck) is that there are so many folks who subscribe to his "unique" view of the world and will defend the personality even when the position (in this case a ranting) isn't defendable to any sane or just person. for example: I love my child, but when he/she is wrong they're just plain wrong, and that wrong cannot and should not be defended.
Let's face it, Journalism is; for all intents & purposes "dead". Beck is no better & yet no worst then an Olbermann per-say. Both sides have been reduced to having no discourse for either journalism or debate and have been for sometime now, reduced to slinging mud, and distorting the news effectively turning what should be balanced journalism into -- not-ready-for-primetime "reality shows".
I think that overall these personalities get much to much of our time, but I am under no disillusion that money and rating drives the networks. Which is why I contribute to and primarily view WETA's News Hour. At least I get something that resembles un-biased news and I am allowed (if you will) the decency of being able to formulate for myself, what it all means or should mean to me.
to heck with Beck, and Couric for that matter they're both ahh.......not right?
Just my thoughts on it.

The :Whoosh: following Nono OP indicates that he and Couric totally missed Beck's eye twinkle. He was funnin' with her and she thought she smelled blood. Too bad she didn't recognize the blood was hers.

Back peddling like the clown he is! :killingmeI wonder if she'd be as tenacious with Obama to explain what a "typical white person" is?
I wonder where she gets the authority to actually think she can expect an answer just because she asked it.
Maybe Beck should interview her.

I wonder if she can explain White Culture with out resorting to Redneck jokes and race baiting
