Officials: Pa. teen wrapped tabby cat in duct tape - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090928/ap_on_re_us/us_duct_taped_cat)
Investigators say a Philadelphia teenager wrapped a cat in duct tape, put it in a shopping bag and left it in a neighbor's backyard.
The Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says 19-year-old James Davis was arrested Saturday on animal cruelty charges.
Official George Bengal says Davis admitted to taping up the cat from neck to tail after he spotted it in his yard Sept. 21.
The gray tabby was nicknamed Sticky by animal welfare workers. It was dehydrated and had to be sedated while the tape was cut off its fur.
Animal welfare workers are still looking for Sticky's owner. The cat is doing well.
Davis faces up to two years in prison and a minimum $1,000 fine if convicted.

I'm sorry, but 19 is NOT a teenager. Throw the book at him and lock him up. That is one sick individual who is probably just starting his "serial" career!

That is truely disgusting. anyone that could do that is a sicko. He needs to be monitered and kept from being near animals for the rest of his life. I wish the law took these things more seriously.

Sicko. Glad they found the culprit. I agree w/ belvak, lock him up tight.
I'm waiting for the sentences for these types of crimes to be increased. These crimes need to be taken far more seriously than they are today.

Philly better step up and do something about this and other similar cases.... ESPECIALLY dog fighting...... It's rampant in North East Philly. Davis is probably a Michael Vick fan

I'd adopt Sticky if the owner isn't found.
That poor cat! I hope that "teenager" is locked up and the key is thrown away!

Send him to jail, bent over with his wrists duct-taped to his ankles- I am sure there are a couple of animal lovers in there that can show him what pain is....

I agree throw him in jail and throw away the key. I agree with the wrap him in duct tape too. This guy is sick. It is a proven fact that people that torture and kill animals for fun are just building up to doing it to humans.

Not sure about the abortions statement i was trying to relate animal cruelty with the onset of serial killers . Not trying to stir anything up or go off topic.

Let's see, 19 years old. Not a kid. An adult. Davis faces up to two years in prison and a minimum $1,000 fine if convicted. Give the little POS the two years in prison and the fine.

In all fairness, it looks like he taped the cat in a comfortable position. It wasn't like he taped the cat with one of its paws bent out of shape or legs criss-crossed around each other. If it wasn't for the adhesive, the kitty looked like it could've been bundled in a blanket.
And the head was exposed. No trouble breathing.
I couldn't see if the anus was vented, though. If that part was sealed, then I agree, it was cruel.

I've always been skeptical of this type of discipline. Either keep him away from animals altogether or he'd better be under constant supervision.

What about slowly dying of dehydration? Or being killed by another animal as it lay there helpless? It's not like the cat was mobile.

You do realize that on this forum it can be very hard to tell sarcasm from derangement, right? :really:
