Is anyone noticing some good color change around the area? Maybe noticed a good place for photo opportunity with the leaves changing. Lets hear about it. Give a description and location please.
Around Cedar Cove (Gate 3 of Base) there doesn't seem to be much color, but leaves are starting to get a lighter green. We have so many evergreen and holly type trees it is hard to notice color changes.
Anyone been by St Mary's Lake......what are the colors like over there?

Great idea! We've had some gorgeous falls the last few years. With all the spring/summer rain, this one should be awesome!

Thanks Baja, I hope for this thread to give people ideas of where to shoot and get some reports from St. Mary's and Calvert.
At the same time, lets NOT let this become a general discussion post.
Just post REPORTS or INFO in this thread. If you have a question or comment that pertains to a report and is useful to the masses, post it. If you want to chit chat about something send a PM or start another thread. That makes it easier for someone to find the useful info in the post and not have to ready a bunch of chatting back and forth.
Thanks

I noticed that the dogwood trees along Hollywood road between Rt. 235 and Leonardtown were starting to show more color today. Some of the red maple in the same area are also starting to get a blush on them.
I have been given permission to take some photos on one of the farms around Leonardtown with very old barns and out buildings. Can't wait for some good light and fall color to get started on that.

Around this time last year (maybe a couple of weeks later), Hubby and I hit Gilbert Run and there were some beautiful colors! We'll be heading towards Luray in a couple of weeks. I'll be sure to take some pics! I can't wait to see everyone's pics!

I may head out there again too.....was out there Oct 12th last year and there was a good bit of colorful foliage.

I went out to West Virginia this weekend on an ATV trip. Here are a couple of pictures. Nothing great. We had a lot of fog and mist the whole time we were there.

Still looks a week or 10 days early. Starting to get a good tinge of color but nothing spectacular yet from the pictures. Keep them coming though, this is my favorite time of year.

Well Yet another cloudy rainy weekend. I took a few anyway. The colors were great! I won't get back anytime soon to take any with sun. Oh well. Maybe next year.

No pictures but driving up Branch Ave. this a.m. the trees were all lit up in brilliant sunlight. Lots of bright yellows, oranges and reds. Drove up to Hagerstown and the mountains were so colorful!

It might have been raining, but the lighting looks perfect and the colors are beautiful. I think the full sun would have made the colors too harsh.

Here are a few shots I took in the woods across the street from my office the last week of October.

Even poison ivy is pretty in the fall.

I like it. :yay: Super-narrow DoF, sharp, and especially the limited, subdued palette.
