Saw a sign in Loveville today... Hay auction is tomorrow morning at 9am.

I've never been... can others who have been give me info on their experience?

1. What quantities are sold? Is there a minimum required?
2. Squares, rounds, or both?
3. Were you happy with the quality of hay? Any BAD experiences?
4. What is the average price for sm squares? Lowest price for sm squares?
5. Do you have to arrive early (to register, preview samples, etc)
6. Is it normally very crowded? How is parking?
7. Do you bring a trailer on auction day, or pick up later? Do you pick up from the auction site, or at each farm?
8. Is the auction held rain or shine?

Thanks!

Also, do they have these hay auctions in Loveville on a regular schedule? If so, what is the schedule?

I am unsure about Loveville's hay auction but there will be a hay auction in Cheltenham (near Brandywine on Rt 301 next to the Vetrans Cemetary). The Auction will start the first Sat of November and then the Third. Runs the first and third Sat of each month until April. Tons of hay types and they have small squares, rounds, and large squares. Prices depend on the bidders but they are very competitive and you can get good deals. You have time to examine the hay to determine the quality. Some of it is SUPER good others not so good.
