So my female kitty mau-mau is acting a little weird. She seems very clingy to me..and a little lazier than usual..when I was petting her she had *maybe* a little bit of weezing when she was breathing...hard to tell as her purr is verrry quiet...her eyes are a tiny bit weepy and so are the littles ones..but she is still a piggy with her food..drinks and potties regularly..shes inside only, had her shots and things..and no new animals (except the kitten who we have had 2 months or so and he was quarantined b4 hand..) I think maybe I am being paranoid because my piggie just died of what I thought may have been a URI... but if she is eating and drinking ok..should i be worried? I put out ALOT of money on vet bills and things this month already..I dont want to take her if im just being a paranoid mommy...

Cats get colds. I didn't know that until Claudia got one a few months back and I took her to the vet. They said just keep an eye on her and make sure she's eating and drinking. A few days later, she was back to normal.

But her symptoms were the same as your cat's. How old is she? And how long has she been acting odd?

That is where my internet research has led me..a cold..but if shes drinking and eating she should be ok. so its good to hear something similar. Shes about a year old..and its been about...I would say... two or three days?

Give her a couple days and see how she does. Obviously, take her to the vet if she gets worse, stops eating, peeing, etc.

You can also give her vitamin c drops on her food. :yay:

One of my male cats, Luther AKA SkittyKitty- a bit on the antisocial side- gets real clingy when he has a hairball. He gets clingy and needy and meows at me a lot. A few days later, we find a long cigar somewhere in the house. Regular dosing of petromalt would help but he is usually so unapproachable otherwise.

Our male cat eat our Malamutes hair like it's cotton candy. Then a few days later, :barf: it back up in a green icky mess.

Change in the weatehr,, it has been cold, damp, yucky and animals react to it..the 3-4 day low pressure can bother them a lot more..and they react to it..give her a day or to to lay in the sun and react to the higher pressure and she should be OK in a short time.
cats are moody as we all are when the pressure swings as it has these past few weeks...not to mention the colder than normal temps!!

could also be a carrier of the feline herpes virus, which can cause cold like symptoms and irritated eyes. 85% of all cats are carriers, some just do not show the cold like symptoms

you can add L- Lysine ( you can pick this up in the vitamin section of any store) to the kitties diet and it will help to ease the symptoms. 500 mg sprinkled on their food (i crush the pill and add to a lil canned food)
