1st, edit your post to remove your personal email address, unless you love getting every creep in the county hitting you.

2nd, got to Verizon Central (http://www.verizon.net). There's a spot to plug in your phone # and see if you can get high speed, whether it's DSL or FIOS, or whatever.

Good luck getting DSL in Clements. It's not going to happen any time soon. I've been waiting for five years. I've got Metrocrap and I'm so far from the box that my 7mb rarely gets above 3 or 4. Satellite will work, but it's very expensive. I just checked into Hughes and it's $80 a month just for 1.6mbps.

Good luck with your search! Let me know if you find something better!

I'm in Avenue and I have Metrocast and am pretty happy with it. I will probably switch to Verizon if it ever comes my way.

There is DSL in some parts of clements, but you have to be within a certain small distance of the "substation" in order to have it available. You can go to the verizon site and plug in your phone number to see if it's available to you, but other than that, if it's not, it probably won't be unless they change their hardware's capabilties. I have Hughes.net satellite, and would only recommend it if you have no other options other than dial up. It's slower usually than they advertise because there are too many ppl on the satellites sharing the bandwidth. So if you have the option of metrocast, I would go that way first. I'm too far off the road for cable.

Good luck waiting for DSL. I live in Chaptico and have Wildblue for my internet. better than dial up. I am too far off the road(.7 miles)to be considered for DSL. One house on our road has verizon but it would have tooooo expensive to run from their house to ours. I guess it is the price we pay for living in the country.

I live in Clements, and the only option I have are Dialup or satellite.

I have Wildblue, and have been happy with them. I pay 50.00 a month.

Call them and place a trouble call. Most likely you are over 300' from the "box" and need a better grade of cable. Signal loses stregth with distance.
