I know nothing. I thought kids had to be three to start preschool. Do they have to be potty trained? When I searched this forum, I found posts talking about waiting lists. My baby will be two in 5/10, do I need to start looking/signing up now? Again, I know nothing. Which elementary schools have preschool?

Pre-school starts at 4 years old and every elementary school offers it in St. Mary's to those kids that qualify based on income, family background, and educational needs. He/she can go to Head Start at 3 and a nursery school such as Starmaker at 2.

I have only heard of one preschool in St. Mary's where your child can go at 2 years old. It is the Hollywood United Methodist Church on Mervell Dean Road. There is part time daycare which can serve the same purpose but most preschools are for 3-4 year old. Some of them do fill it quickly so it is better to get on the list so you know you have a spot, they do charge a non refundable reg. fee.

HUM church calls the 2 year old group a play group, not pre-school. It's a good program, especially if you are a SAHM and your 2 year old doesn't get alot of interaction with other children his/her age. All my kids attended there.

I think the preschool at Immaculate Conception in Mechanicsville has a 2 year old nursery program. Building Blocks of Faith?

Prep N Play in Hollywood allows 2 year olds. They do not have to be potty trainined and they actually work with the kids to get them trainined. I highly recommend the place as both of my kids have gone there. Great staff! 301-373-3710 call and do a walk through and then go ahead and get your child on the waiting list if you are interested.
