I'll load a page, then it blips out and all the content disappears. Like, I just went to Fox News to see the 20 greatest scream queens of all time. The page loaded and I could see the content for about 2 seconds, then the content disappeared and I was left with a blank page. This happens all the time, on all kinds of different websites.
It's not the computer because it does this on my laptop, too. So it's either Firefox (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.3) Gecko/20090824 Firefox/3.5.3 GTB5 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)) or maybe my java settings?
Anyone have this happen to them?

Nope. I have no issues with FireFox. I do however have issues with IE7.

Never
Do you get a pop-up or anything saying the security certificate is expired? If so, double check the time and date on your computer. also could be java or flash related. Uninstall and re-install java and flash.

Nope, no pop ups.
But I'll try redoing java and flash. Thanks!

I'd insert a witty remark but I don't want to piss you off (again). :killingme

The ONLY place I have FireFox issues is on SOMD.com. Every page reload flashes 2-4 times before it settles. That's been happening ever since the last web server upgrade to SOMD.
No issues anywhere else.

Now see, I have no problems anywhere on Somd.com - that's why I didn't think it was a flash or java problem. BUT! That gives me an idea. I wonder if it's my security settings? Because I'm set to accept anything on Somd.com, but not sure about elsewhere.
Hmmm...

I would tend to agree about Flash and Java. Happens on my older XP machine as well as my brand new Vista Premium laptop with 2 different versions of FireFox. I'm sure there are minor version differences in Flash and Java too, between the 2 laptops, never really bothered to figure it out.

I know you fixed it but sometimes it can also be the addons you have for your firefox to cause problems. Sure for some reason firefox use to go faster for me before all the updates but idc I like it. Its I believe the best if not one of the best browsers you can use. If you have problems with it again switch on over to google chrome and give that a try. I've heard after updates and stuff that its really good. I never really cared to try it except when it first came out and it had a bunch of bugs and exploits but now those are fixed. :buddies: good job on fixing it and well have a great time browsing the web.

I used to have that issue but fixed it by removing addons and then re adding them.

I didn't have any addons. Fresh install of FireFox, only happens with version 3 and only on SOMD.

Maybe that wasnt what I did maybe it was the skin that I changed. I had the same issue though and posted what I did to fix it somewhere on here. I just dont remember where.
It annoyed me enough to fix it though.

I think I now remember what fixed it. Adblock plus had a new version that came out, and the old version quit blocking the ads on SOMD. So when I installed the new version it quit the blinking.
I believe it is the way the ads are coded in the CSS file.
Just for fun install adblock plus and see if that takes the problem away. When I disable it on SOMD it blinks again.

I have ADP and it still blinks. However, I just changed a preference to not collapse blocked content and it only blinks once now instead of three times. :yay:

I've been running the latest version, still blinks with or without. The ads were always causing grief and performance issues.
(but don't tell Vrai we're doing this... it's a secret... shhhhh.....)

Must be something with Firefox. Same thing happens to me and I use three different laptops. Only happens when I try to changes pages or open a new page.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.3) Gecko/20090824 Firefox/3.5.3, but I noticed that it is currently downloading 3.5.4.
BTW, I spoke too soon...it's back to flashing three times.

With blue, you get nice graphical buttons for "Reply w/Quote", "Quick Reply", and "Multi-Quote". With tan, it's text for "Reply w/Quote" and "Quick Reply", and the multi-quote button is just a graphic of a quotation mark.

I prefer the blue, so I'll live with the flash for now. I've gotten used to it!
So, is the infamous "blue flash" everyone talks about in Key West??? Oh wait, that's green.
VRAI!!! we need a GREEN screen!!!
