My daughter is turning ten in a few days and I would like to take her somewhere fun and different for that age. We are new to the area so I don't know too many places yet. She likes outdoor things and most things a typical 10 year old girl would enjoy. (Not too girly, though) :) Thanks for any ideas!

Well you did say not too girly..but the tea place in leonardtown would be so fun for young girls..they do the whole tea..scones and all that..decaf tea for the girls...but that may be more girly than you are looking for....

You could always rent one of those cabins at point lookout..if you are brave enough to camp this time of year with a bunch of ten year olds...

My baby shower was at that tea place. It was very nice!

It is too bad she is not real girly because there is a company called little pampered princess, that comes to your home and does dress up, hair, make up, nails, etc.

Thanks for the ideas! The tea room sounds like fun and not too girly. She doesn't mind being somewhat girly, just not the princessy stuff. We haven't explored Leonardtown very much so we could have lunch at the tea room and spend the afternoon looking around.

Buy her a 1/2 day of horse riding lessons??

Rent an ATV and take her to the ATV park..

Take her deer hunting and let her dress her own deer.

Give her three choices and let her pick her birthday surprise.
