What jumps out at me is how the face shields are always scratched.

Kewl stuff.
I cringe when I see people riding without gear.
A thread on the after effects of crash, no gear, might make the point even better. :yikes:

Can you imagine getting your nose ears and lipps rubbed off your head? Thats what would happen to you without a full face helmet. Untill they can grow you new ones in a lab, I wear a full face helmet. I am still looking for good riding gear. Stuff made of kevlar, head to toe.

The key is to protect the impact points. Just like they teach parachutists. Shoulders, elbows, knees, and ankles. Protect those, and the rest of the body takes care of itself. Seems the bendy points are the ones that take the shots, that and the spine.
Kelvar, eh, thats really an piercing resistant, you want to spread the impact, and dissipate it.

They already can grow ears noses, and the like, they are currently looking at growing Organs.
(I did a research paper on it for school about 2 years ago, human ears being grown on the backs of rats)

Yup.
Can't wait until the 'super' suit is finished, the lightweight, breathable, bio mechanical, nanotechnological fabric that reacts, instantly, to where ever rigidity and/or flexibility and/or support is needed in a crash!
As it is, MX gear is the bomb, head, neck, shoulders, chest, back, elbows knees and feet but, I look like a freaking transformer!

First Gear has some new flexible armor that's supposed to become rigid under impact.
I keep thinking it has properties similar to Silly Putty, soft and flexible but will shatter like glass if you hit it with a hammer

"Here Joe, for the next test, put this on and go wreck. Into that wall."
