Betsy McCaughey: What the Pelosi Health Care Bill Really Says - WSJ.com (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704795604574519671055918380.html)
This is insane. Call someone, anyone. No one could possibly want this.

You know, I've alwasy wanted to write books. Think what I could do with this!
Setting the scene: the US government refuses to listen to the people and passes an insane health care law.
The problem: what reaction do the people have? how do they respond? what happens next?
Perhaps I will have the people gather from all corners of the country and create a human blockade of the Capitol building, refusing to let anyone out of the building until the insane law is repealed. Of course, I would need to have supporters in the military to make sure that when the order goes out to have the military respond, it gets buried somewhere or changed so the jets & tanks & things end up participating in the blockade. Might have to think up something to keep the Supremes busy, too. Won't have to do anything with the WH other than disable the teleprompter (there's my comic relief piece).
Okay, this has some definite possibilities... I'm serving notice of copyright on this idea, right here and now! And, it's on the Internet as being done so that's plenty of notice :lmao:!
Oohhh, I'm ganna have some fun with this....

Has anyone tried to read this bill? I know Tilted will eventually jump in here and try to tell us that it's not all that complicated and that these bills are not meant to be written for us ordinary shmoes to understand, but this is one insane, inane, incomprehensible bill.
And I am trying to understand the provisions in that written about TriCare. Can someone explain to me how this affects TriCare recipients?
Holy Crap! If this gets passed we are ALL so screwed.

Just some information for your book. None of the Congress enters the Capitol through the front door. They all enter through their own personal underground subway system from the various office buildings in which they are housed. So blockading the doors to the Capitol wouldnt work unless you blockaded the Office building also.
Funny that, you might say they all enter from underground ,like the rats they are.
so, based on the estimates that are in the article,
people will be forced to pay for the insurance at such a high cost they wont be able to afford to get care because of the deductable.
however, thats only if you actually work for a living. If on the other hand you are a street urchin that has made their life sucking off the public funds, you will not only get the initial cost waved, you will also have no deductable.
In the end, it seems that those that currently work and have insurance will no longer be able to afford to use it. Those that currently do not have insurance will be able to afford to use it.
kinda looks like a get even type plan if you ask me.
On Nov. 2, the Congressional Budget Office estimated what the plans will likely cost. An individual earning $44,000 before taxes who purchases his own insurance will have to pay a $5,300 premium and an estimated $2,000 in out-of-pocket expenses, for a total of $7,300 a year, which is 17% of his pre-tax income. A family earning $102,100 a year before taxes will have to pay a $15,000 premium plus an estimated $5,300 out-of-pocket, for a $20,300 total, or 20% of its pre-tax income. Individuals and families earning less than these amounts will be eligible for subsidies paid directly to their insurer.
Now I understand that there are people that might be able to absorb a 20% loss in pre tax income, but Im betting that without trying to sound super rich, very few of us in here would be able to do it without having to
get rid of some bills like car payments etc..
down grade the home at a loss and move somewhere cheaper
forget about college for the kids
maybe go a couple weeks each month without using any electricity
learn to live on 1 meal a day, maybe hotdogs and beans.
Talk about wanting to crash the economy.
When this is all said and done, and the control changes in DC, I really expect to see some of those that took this road brought up on charges and hung in a public square.
I will be most happy to operate the floor release lever.

Thanks for the info -- I'll have to give you credit in the book. Guess our "angry mob" might have to just blockade the entire city. Wonder if any group in history has ever attempted such a feat -- have to go do some research so I can study the methods. I want it to be realistically accurate....

I have already said this to my wife that I would have to sell my house (probably at a loss) and move to something smaller, and make all sorts of other financial adjustments. I've worked my a$$ off to get where I am now to have this "spread the wealth" BS shove me back into near poverty.
The big question is, will Americans wake up come next Nov.
BTW, FWIW... McCain would veto this bill.

They don't care how much it's going to cost, or how effective it is, or how many people will go broke, get fined or go to jail.
What's most important to them RIGHT now, is to give Obama a "win".. and they are going to force ALL democrats to vote for it whether they agree or not, not for the good of the country, but for the good of the party!

This is insane. Call someone, anyone. No one could possibly want this. And do you think that matters to Steny. He votes the way he wants, not the way the people want him to vote. He proved that on the stimulus deal.

They have to have something to show when re-election time comes around. "Hey, look what we did." Healthcare for all. And there will be the stupid people that will suck it up and vote for him again.

It doesnt come into effect for a few years , but when it does, I believe the Democrats can kiss their careers goodbye. If we still have elections by then.
This travesty will haunt America for years to come.

I tried to read it but my eyes were bleeding....I did see one part that says that when you file your taxes, you must include proof that you are in a qualified plan. If not, you will be fined thousands of dollars. Illegal immigrants are exempt from this requirement.
Do illegal immigrants file taxes?

thats me. Thats new college grads..spending 17% of their pretax income..on health insurance..that I will not likely need to use much. I am a healthy young person..I just...im so sad. I have insurance through my work..premiums already goin up..and we know how long it will be before that "option" is the only "option".........I want to save money..to buy a house ...get married and have children I can afford..how can I do these things when they are continually looking for more and more ways to prevent my dreams? Taxes, cap and trade, exorbitant health insurance...I feel so lost. I have education loans..everyday normal bills..it just keeps mounting....and no one there in washington gives a crap about me. They "care" about the drug addicts..the crackhead hoes with 4 kids by different daddies...the high school dropouts with no job livin off welfare. But what am I supposed to do? Sure..i will move up the ladder..make more money..but then it only gets worse! Why can't I work hard and have nice things? Why can't i save enough to buy a nice car or a freakin mansion? because it isnt fair to the babies mommas?

Lets remember two things.
1) how pissed off and energized the non democrats are becoming.
2) the stupidity of the average voter.
now lets look at this.
next election, look what we did.
The energized people will vote the dems out of control and the republicans will take on the task at hand. obama will still have two years left.
2012.
by then, the cost will have hit because of the delay, and the republicans will take the full blame of the tax increases, obama will claim that the whole problem is on the republicans from the last two years because they could not control spending.
The party will shift back to dem because the idiots that are pissed off will go along and blame the guy sitting in the chair when they vote, obama will get the pity vote because if only they would have listend to him for the last two years, none of this would have happened.
2012 will see full control go back to the dems with an obama win for re election.
