Studied for the permit yesterday and took the test and failed. Missed 5, when they only allow you to miss 4. Re-took it today and missed ONE and am now the proud owner of a motorcycle permit, which means I can actually start learning how to ride legally (which means outside the driveway) with hubby by my side.

I missed the stupidest question yesterday, which was where does the passenger put his feet when you are stopped at an intersection? I answered "on the ground" but hadn't read the question right. Thought they were asking about the driver. Duh. Same questions completely today, except in a different order. I missed the one about accelerating during a turn, i.e., "do you slow accelerate (right answer) or do you accelarate while keeping you eyes focused ahead (wrong answer). Kind of tricky.

And I know I made a typo in this post.

Well, apparently I was too stupid to have a permit yesterday, but today I was smart enough to have one......Like passing that test is gonna make me able to ride a bike....You'll stay out of the Town Creek area for a while if you're smart.

Again, might I add that your husband is trying to get me into leather. If I have to wear it, so do you.

Since we are sharing our innermost secrets before we go to the fight club, I guess we should go leather pant shopping together.

I'd have to have mine custom made as I reached Amazon status at the age of 15.

Dustin was recommending leather. What do you recommend for summer riding? He said the daisy dukes and fishnets were just not appropriate.

Link to jackets (http://street-bikes.ridegear.com/cgi-bin/SoftCart.exe/shop/Womens_Jackets/F-8840_Womens_GX_Air_Jackets.html?E+scstore)

Try this link.. something like this.. synthetic, abrasion proof, armored.. and vented, they all come with waterproof and cold weather liners that make them "3 season" but I wear mine year round.. I have an Olympia jacket and pants..

That depends on what you're planning on riding

I've got a First Gear Meshtec jacket for summer. The entire jacket is made of ballistic nylon mesh. It's actually cooler than a t shirt because it keeps the sun off you.

The term ballistic is something I can certainly relate to.

Suppposed to be around 50 on Wednesday. That will be day one for me. Permit is good until August, but am taking the class in April, so should get my license then.
