I am looking into the purchase of a laptop. One question, can DVD drives also read CDs and CDRWs? I would love to get a DVD drive to play DVD's on the machine but that is a luxury.

XP has a UDF reader built into it.

Most likely I will be using Windows XP Home. So that means I can get the DVD drive and read the CD's Right?

Yes. The built in reader, in Windows XP, will read the CDRW's.
