has the County's mobile display sign out on 235 advertising for his Senate race. Is that kosher? I wondered why the county thought we needed a sign like that just to advertise mulch at the landfilll. Now we know the real purpose.

Now we know the real purpose. :rolleyes:If the sign is in deed county property, I bet it is not legal to use for political purposes. But this is St.Mary's. Two of the people running for judge had illegal signs, one was lit and the other was on a vehicle and prevented the vehicle from being used for its primary purpose. The guy that won was in collusion with another judge to limit the contest.

Why can't we get people in office and as judges that have more than their own resume and pockets in their minds.

235 northbound across from KMart. It reads "working for you, McKay for senate".

Can't you rent those type of signs from united rental or other places like that?

:rental: :yeahthat: That's what I thought when I saw it, but I also think it is irresponsible and stupid to use it. Those signs are normally used to alert drivers of something related to driving, so people always look at the sign. To use it as a campaign ad preys upon the drivers desire to stay informed of road conditions. It also makes people less likely to pay attention to the next sign, 1/2 mile later, that actually had a valid road condition message.

Way to think of yourself instead of the public Tommy!

I completely agree with this. Advertising should never look like a hazard or information sign because then people get conditioned to tuning them out.

I've got to go see if the one at the landfill is there now.

It's still there... I pass it every morning on my way to work.

Exactly, because right after that sign you see two others telling you about night bridge maintenance that's going to happen around the 22nd of Oct.

He must have rented it then. It isn't an appropriate means of advertising though. What's next, huge neon signs along the roads?

Thanks for all the junk mail Mr. McKay. :cheesy: Ever since I stopped subscribing to the Recorder I've looking for scrap paper to use it in my firepit.

Say hello :howdy: to Marilyn for me, she sure sounds nice on the radio!
