Drowning Prevention for Swimmers

Drowning while swimming visited Maryland this year on a few occasions. The Boat US Foundation has some suggestions for swimmers and boaters who swim from their vessels.

It is important to know where you are swimming so you are not impaled or strike bottom when you jump dive. Hopefully filed a float plan so that others know where you are and it would be nice to be in a place where rescuers could actually get to you.

Read the article and then be your own best lifeguard.

Oh and where is your favorite safe swimming hole?
