Anne Arundel County Battery Thefts

Anne Arundel County- 1-31-13- The Maryland Natural Resource Police (NRP) are working in conjunction with Anne Arundel County Police to investigate another rash of boat battery thefts in Anne Arundel County. On January 31, 2013 Anne Arundel County Police officers arrested a suspect in possession of 12 marine batteries. NRP is asking anyone with information about the thefts or if they witnessed any suspicious activity to call the Broadneck NRP officer at 410-295-4600 between the hours of 9am and 4pm or contact Anne Arundel County Police at 410-222-8610. For ongoing crimes please contact NRP’s 24 hour dispatch at 410-260-8888.

NRP asks the public to check their vessels to see if they have been a victim of theft. Police also ask the public to etch a unique serial into your Battery so it can be identified if stolen.

Last round of boat battery thefts in St. Mary's was solved fairly quickly; the perps took the batteries straight to the salvage yard to collect the ten bucks each or whatever it was then.
