Who has one? Do you love it? Hate it?

I think I want one rilly rilly bad, but that $350+ price tag is making me hesitate. If I knew for sure I'd love it, I wouldn't worry about the money so much. But I'm trying to think of how I'd like e-reading instead of fondling paperback pages.

Any comments?

My mom got hers recently and loves it! She has no complaints so far! They travel a lot so downloading newspapers as a subscription was a plus.

My g/f has one and she has read 9 books in a little over a month (she loves it). The books are allot cheaper (If you love to read...the machine will pay for itself), there is no glare in direct sunlight (even less than a standard book). You buy books over the air (no web subscription required) from your kindle. Page turn buttons on both sides of the device. You can change the font size.

Accessories I would recommend: Book light and case.

The one thing that I find cool about it is that it uses ink to make the display. That is so neat! Because of that it is not like a PDA or laptop where you have glare and can't use it in direct sunlight.

My boss had one. Pretty neat, but I prefer the real thing.

Yeah, I want one. Really, really, really bad. My dad was considering getting me one for Christmas, when hopefully the pricetag will be a bit easier to swallow.

I have had mine since last November and love it. It is so much easier to travel with than a paper book. It has passed through airport security 4 times and doesn't seem to be bothered by the screening devices.

I have no problem reading it in bright sunlight and I have a clip on reading light for night so I don't bother Gophette.

There are a huge number of books available from Amazon and they usually have current free offerings each month. In addition Amazon offers hundreds of free books (mostly old classics) and there are several other sites that have free downloads.

I have the Kindle I and haven't found anything about it I don't like. You get used to the lag in page turning fairly quick and even though it is easy to accidentally turn pages when you first start using it, you also quickly get used to holding it so that isn't a problem after about the first day.

It's $100 more, but I think I would almost hold out for the new DX. It has a larger reading area and offers many upgrades over the Kindle II.
