Sookie Stackhouse Series VS. Twilight Series

I read the Twilight series first, now I'm reading the Sookie series. I've just finished the fourth book. All I can say is Charlaine Harris kicks Stephanie Meyers' butt!

There are SO many similarities between the two series, but they're definitely different. Sookie's character is so much better than Bella's. I really love the characters much more than the whole Twilight cast. I find myself liking Alcide and Eric better than Bill, and in Twilight I liked Jacob way more than Edward.

I think if I'd read the Sookie Stackhouse series before Twilight, I wouldn't have liked Twilight as much as I did.

And hopefully Netflix will have delivered the TrueBlood series today, because I can't wait to start watching it!

I agree on all counts. I love Sookie and Eric, and Bella and Edward are ridiculously melodramatic. Just be warned that the TV series is quite a bit different than the book series. I don't mind because it keeps me on my toes, but my mom can't stand it.

That's what my sister said. We've been comparing notes. She hasn't read the books, and I haven't seen the show.

Just read the last 3 books in the series in the past 4 or 5 days. I couldn't put them down they were SO good. Now I have to wait until the next one is released.

And I'll definitely be buying the whole series because I can see myself reading them over and over.

Harris released another Sookie short story collection, A Touch of Dead, this month. There are a lot of previous collections too. You might also try her Harper Connnely Series (Grave Sight, Grave Surprise, An Ice Cold Grave and Grave Secret). Harper can find bodies and generally sees what they saw in their last few minutes of life. She's turned it into a business which is frequently hazerdous to her. Looks like the next Sookie book is due out March of 2010. Can't wait!

Did you like the first season of the show? The second season deviated even farther from the books, but I like it because I don't know what to expect. Dustin finally had to stop asking me "So what's going to happen?" because I had no idea.

I'll get those to keep me busy while I wait for the next Sookie book!

I did like the first season. I kinda like it being different from the book because it's nice to not be able to predict stuff. I haven't seen the second season because we don't have HBO. It's on my waiting list for Netflix though!
