The cat thinks that spot is it litter box. I suggest locking it in the bathroom with the litter, food and water, until it learns to use it again.

then again I have known my cats to do stuff out of spite. Especially if they were neglected Peeing on my cloths was the worst.

Did you introduce a new animal to the house?

Put the rug in the bathtub and train her to go in there. Once she is used to going in the tub, throw away the rug, and just get a bathmat. Hang the bathmat out of her reach.

The problem is the litterpan is downstairs under the woodstove where the wood goes in teh winter time. There is nowhere else I could put it but in the upstairs bathroom and my mom and stepdad don't want it in there so I will have to see what my mom comes up with

Wenchy to answer your question too we don't have a bathtub just a shower that is all open we just use a shower curtain and she doesnt go in the shower at all.

sorry I can't spell at this hour of the night as i am very tired from getting up at 550 this am.

oops forgot to say no new pets as of yet. Just my pain in the rear end 5yr old cat keeps going after her today for some reason. He is also a jealous cat too if i try to give her attention he comes running and wants it immediately and pushes her aside. :(

My sister's cat would only do this when she would go out of town for a few days. She claims the cat only does that stuff when it is stressed or not getting enough attention.

Have you changed litter brands? My cat would crap on the floor when I changed to feline pine litter, he only like a box that is clean and has clumping litter.

Maybe you don't have enough litter in his box? My cat crapped on the floor when another cat moved all the litter to one side. he's so pickey.

I suggest tossing the bath mat or wash and relocate it because now that (or the location) is associated with a litter pan.

We took up the bathroom rug and she actually used her litterpan the other day to take her crap in so I am hoping she is back to using it again which will make me really happy. I also haven't changed the type of litter in the 12yrs of her life. I just have a male cat who likes to play chase with her and she doesn't like it one bit.
