There are also a "gazillion" idiot people out there that should be fixed so they can't breed, I suspect your parents are two of them!

Now that is a good one -- should be on a bumper sticker!

There's also a group called "Friends of Felines" located in St. Leonard and they specialize in ferals. phone number is 410-495-7839. I've rec'd alot of good advice from them re trapping, low fee spay/neuter, for barn cats.

spay/neuter is the best solution and you're truly doing the right thing. Good luck!

I tried a head count last night and another this evening. The one's I could see were about 16 kittens and 13 adults from tonight. I counted 15 kittens last night and 11 adults and one HUGE racoon. The racoon was quite brazen and could care less that we were right there, but showed no signs of being rabid or anything and the cats could care less about it eating the cat food put out.
I talked to some folks at the Well Pet Clinic and they gave me the prices they have, 55 for fixing females and 35 for males. Of course adult cat wise I know there are more females than males. The males seem to have quite the harems.

Nice BIG dude!! Beautiful face..with a few ticks...

Loper..count me in for the trapping an I can help you set up after care cages... I was with the feral cat group here in Calvert....

We can use the big coyote cage to trap a lot of the cats at once.

When can you get apointments at Clinic?

No kidding, kiddies... If you're dealing with feral cats make sure your shots are up to date and you are wearing thick leather gauntlet-style gloves.

I'm not a big cat lover, but I applaud your love for animals. (And every farm needs some meowsers to keep the rodent population down.)

But feral cats are a hotbed of biological nasties. Please play safe.

My neighborhood dumpster cats (x3) walk me from my car to my door..Secret Service style.

Only costs a bit of kitty food per week. (Or they'll kill me.... so it's a good trade.)

I would do the females first if I were you. It only takes 1 male to breed the gals, so even if you neuter 9 out of 10 males you'll still get kittens. Controlling the females first would give you the quickest results. Good luck!
