Ok, let me give you some history about said cat. She is really good at this pill thing. She will sit there and refuse to swallow and if you let go of her face/head she will shake her head to fling the pill across the room. I have tried the pill in the food thing. More then once has she eaten all the way around the pill and left it sitting in the bowl. This cat is so good she can slip out of any towel you put her in. Sis told me to use a dampish towel because it gives you more grip, NOT with Lucy!!! She has to be the smartest and most stubborn cat I have EVER had the pleasure of meeting!

I had a claw like thingie that I got from the vet. It holds the pill and makes it easier to get it down the cats throat so they can't get it out. There are also "pill pockets", a little snack with a pocket to put the pill in.

How is she getting out of the towel? If you wrap it around her really tightly so only her head is sticking out she should be good. Can you have a second person hold her rear legs so she cant kick?

When you put the pill in her mouth, push it waaaaaay back past her tongue...push it as far back into her mouth as your finger will go. Once you get it in far enough, she will not be able to get it back up. Hold her mouth shut and stroke down her throat to get her to swallow.

If all else fails, take her to your vet and let them help you give it...that way you can see their technique.

Just remember, the more worked up you get, the more worked up your cat will be. Stay calm, and remember...you are way bigger than her. As long as you keep out of the way of the claws, you'll be fine. You can do it!
