Microchipping

I am thinking about either getting one of my escape artists cats microchipped or getting one of those collars with the little flash drive hanging on it. Does anyone have a clue how much a regular Vet charges to microchip?

We had ours done at St. Mary's Veterinary Hospital. I think they charged something to the tune of $40 per animal.

I've heard that it's cheaper at the Well Pet Clinic, and also that some rescue organizations routinely offer it at a discount.

Excellent! That is my vet too. I just love Dr. Forrest! He's a cool dude! Been using this vet for 16 yrs. I just never had the need to microchip before. But this cat makes a B-line for the door anytime you open it and she's spayed and declawed. I don't get spayed cats wanting to be oustide. It makes no since to me.

CAWL (Calvert Animal Welfare League) charged us $25 per dog. A lot of vets want to do it when the pet is under anesthesia. Dogs didn't have an issue at all.
