strange cat side affect

So kitty came home last night from her spaying. She was out of her mind until 3 in the morning. So here's the side effect- she is walking backwards. Every once in a while, she will go forward, but for the most part she is walking backwards. Anybody seen this before? The meds seemed to last longer in her system than the doc said they would, but at least she is purring again this morning. Still feels the need to walk backwards though. Hmmmm.

08-23-2007 07:53 AM Sounds like the doc crossed a few wires while he was in there...

Well, just since I posted, she is coming back around to attacking my feet and walking forward some more. I was beginning to wonder if a wire in her head really was shorted out.

When I had my old cat fixed, he came home walking around in every direction, bumped into walls, fell off things...it was funny.

Our cat had surgery for a bladder stone and when she came home, she was walking backwards too! Of course, she had on one of those god awful elizabethan collars to keep her from licking her sutures out (didn't work, she got them out anyway...). Glad to hear your kitty is starting to act normal again.

My kitty did that after she was spayed.. She looked like a wind up mouse when she put it in reverse! LOL

All of my female cats did that after being spayed. I think they were trying to escape their Elizabethan Collars.

LOL. We didn't get a collar. She got the internal stitches and isn't messing with them yet. Now her hind legs are shaking. ?? I was at least able to get her to snack on her food for a minute to help push those meds through her system. Poor kitty.
