I find more CEW are sound hearing then BEW because of the copper eye gene...anyway good luck hope she finds a nice home she sure is cute..
I had white with blue/green eyes ..she was deaf..I did a lot of reading about it since then. It's kind of an urban legend about the whites w/blue eyes...it is true that they have a higher incidence of deafness than the other eye colors but it's not as high a percentage as most think. The odd-eyed are close to 50% for being deaf. Kinda like white boxers/deafness.

Wouldn't it be funny if people with blue eyes were deaf?

Ok, not funny-haha, but funny-weird.

Otter has blue eyes. He probably wishes he was deaf sometimes.

Both Joshua and Dustin have blue eyes...both highly social and vocal...maybe they can't hear me.

Deafness in Cats

In summary, most white cats, even those with blue eyes are not deaf. Many have normal hearing, or at least normal hearing in one ear. Simply put, white cats with blue eyes have a greater than normal chance of deafness when compared to other colored cats, but most white cats with blue eyes have normal hearing.

I was just saying it is a possibility..so to know that going into getting her thats all..not an argument..

Although frankly, AppyPasoWhateveah, I've been pretty nice to you anyway.
