to rescue group at shelter this weekend

I visited a baby female calico kitten at the Tri County Animal Shelter this past Saturday an hour before adoptions hours ended. I called after hours and the girl assured me it would be there if we arrived Monday (today) at noon when adoption hours reopened.

I got there this morning when it opened and they said a rescue organization took this kitten and some others.

If anybody is familiar with who this group is, please PM me. If it still needs a home, we really would still like to have it. We fell in love with the kitty.

It's about 5 months old. Pic attached.

Ohh.. I am so sorry..I saw the earlier post that indicated you were all set to bring her home.
I dont know many of the groups, but I know there are folks here who will help find her for you.

Oh... petfinder.com might list her if not today, in a few days....and also that would provide a list of rescue groups in this area!

I just checked them out. She's not on there yet. I also checked all of the rescue organizations that I saw listed. I'll keep looking though! Thanks.

If they picked her up during the weekend she probably won't be listed for serveral days as they will have to get her spayed, shots and FIV and AIDS tested before listing her. She may end up in one of the Petsmart stores in MD or VA depending on which group took her.

Here is a list of groups in the area. Maybe contact each of them if they say they rescue cats. Lucky Ones does not rescue cats anymore so you can skip them. Another group not listed there is Last Chance Animal Rescue - Last Chance Animal Rescue Inc.. They used to take a lot of cats, mostly kittens, from the shelter.

I gave the girl at the shelter my phone number so she could pass it on to them. I'm hoping she will.
