Feral cats lost their food source

I think the feral colony that lives behind the McKay's in WW has lost their food source (McKay's dumpster diving) now that McKay's has closed. I've seen them crossing WW Blvd to the apartments in search of food. One of them got wacked by a car the other day. Poor guys.

Maybe you can send an e-mail to Alley Cat Allies and alert them to this. IDK what else to do. I have my own colony and live too far away from there to be able to offer any help. there are several organizations in SOMD that may be able to help as well but I don't have information on hand.

Anybody else able to offer any help?

After reading this, I put feelers out to see if anyone had ever trapped, spayed/neutered this colony. I remember seeing a lot of cats behind Wildewood center years ago when I rented space in a gift shop there.
I have contacted a rescue group and have offered to provide food for the kitties as long as someone is willing to feed them daily.

If another source of help is not found, we could provide some TNR assistance during the week between Christmas and New Years if we can get donations to cover the spay/neuter/Rabies vac. fees. We also have limited space for heated recuperation time, so could only probably handle 2 cats at a time (males need 1-2 days minimum recuperation time, and females between 2-4 days depending on their age/health). If possible I like to hold the females for 7-10 days due to their bare bellies needing hair regrowth during the Winter months.

Someone here may have a connection to another rescue group who may be able to do the spay/neuter/Rabies lower cost or free?

feral (fîrl, fr-)
Existing in a wild or untamed state, either naturally or having returned to such a state from domestication
Why do you think you need to feed a wild animal, especially an invasive species? Their population will stabilize in accordance with their food source

Because the cats did not ask to be here and were brought here by humans so humans should finish what they started.
