The only thing it asked for durring the install was the root password. When at the login I put Root for the login and then my password and it didnt work.

Well I shouldnt say it didnt work. I put in Root as the login and my password that i typed durring install then it dropped down to another login. Nothing is GUI. Everything is text. I tried doing the visual install of Fedora and my monitor went blank and said "input out of limit"

I might try Ubuntu tonight.

Can I use any Linux install to run these free servers?
When it comes to Linux im about as retarded as it gets. I mean c'mon I cant even login.

The only thing that I inputed at install was the root password.
Once at the login prompt I put root,my password and it wouldnt login. I tried about 10 different login suggestions that I found on the net and nothing worked. I downloaded Ubuntu last night so im giving that a whirl tonight.

Damn Floyd - you are having bad luck all around...

Did you do any type of package customization? Regardless, this install sounds like it screwed the pooch and I feel bad it did not work for you... Normally I just follow default workstation installation and add in whatever servers I want (web, ftp, etc...) and it just works.

Your problem is very odd and without seeing the installation not much I can say to try...
